| For years I joined with other painters to paint the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. One year the Mission was plagued by a heron who would fly in to use the carp in the fountain as a sushi bar. While he waited for activity to cease around the fountain he made a patient model and so he became part of the painting I had in progress. |
